Daniel Lockert
Daniel Lockert made his New York debut at Alice Tully Hall
accompanying Japanese mezzo-soprano Chaiko Kobashi, with whom
he has made numerous concert tours in her native Japan. Daniel
was also the only American finalist at the 1st International
Accompanying Competition held in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Daniel has served on the musical staff of the San Francisco
Opera, Opera San Jose, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music,
Berkeley Symphony, Chapman University, the Juilliard School,
and the Aspen Music Festival. He appears every summer at the
Carmel Bach Festival, where he plays harpsichord and organ continuo
as well as accompanying lieder recitals.
Daniel is the founder and director of Consortmusik, a vocal
and instrumental music organization, specializing in presenting
music in home salon settings and historical sites.
Daniel is organist at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in
Oakland, CA. He is also the accompanist for the Philharmonia
Baroque Orchestra chorus.
Daniel has musically directed several musicals and reviews
by Stephen Sondheim.
He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance
from Loma Linda University and Master of Music degree in accompanying
from the University of Southern California.
